So, I've actually played my first BloodBowl games in over two years. And, whaddya know, it was pretty fun.

I've joined a local tabletop league (BABBL) and got in two minor league games. Not only was this my first experience with tabletop play, it was also my first time trying out LRB 5 rules, turn time limits and 7s.

While I didn't do that great, I feel relatively good about it. I tied the first and lost the second - both games against developed teams but relatively inexperienced coaches.

I made a few brutally stupid mistakes but for my first outing, I'm fairly pleased with a -1 TD deficit overall. Overall, my puny humans were an average of around 400k TV underdog versus CDs and Chaos. I could have pulled off an upset in the first match if I'd remembered the 6-turn time limit for 7s play (oops!), despite forgetting to take inducements.

My painting skills have been rusting since the death of Space Marine/Titan Legions - not that they were ever anything to write home about - but getting back into it and enjoying myself, at least. The Middenheim Pimpernels (my 7s human team) are thoroughly mediocre in scarlet and white, but I'm rather fond of the first Chaos Warrior for Tzeentch's Horriffic, Exceedingly Secretive, Mystically Unstoppable, Reservist Football Squad (T.H.E.S.M.U.R.F.S. for short). $5 to whomever guesses the base color first...
